If a bundle is selected as an existing product, you can't change it to another value error when calling API through CRM

Hello guys,
I am facing an issue which I need help on. I can't seem to figure out what's wrong..
OK so I am working on an On premise CRM system which communicates with a bunch of APIs and does work like create, update records.  (We call an API to find the rate and apply on our quotedetail). When trying to do that am getting an error "If a bundle is selected as an existing product, you can't change it to another value.".I am not updating any product/product category records. Any suggestions? I did search online about this issue and people suggested to not send my product id in my API call. I tried that one as well and it is still failing.
