User Security Roles

Morning.
 
I'm having massive issues setting up user security roles in D365 F&O, example is i have a purchasing manager who cannot see any purchase orders without sysadmin level permissions. Now below is what i've given him, but i still cannot get anything to show.
 
  
Is there somewhere that gives a detailed list, so for each user role it shows what to put in the role assignment. I'm finding this is so not well laid out or explained well.

    Please tell us more about the problem. Does "cannot see any purchase orders" mean that he has permissions to open purchase orders form, but doesn't see any data there? If so, the problem isn't about permissions to access the form; it related to data. For example, it may be caused by extensible data security that someone configured in your system. Or the user is logged into a wrong company.

    You are using the external security roles as well (Supplier admin (external) etc.)
     
    These external security roles are intended for vendor collaboration scenarios, where vendors are allowed access to your D365 environment, but they will be limited to only see the vendor data which their account is mapped to.
     
    Remove these external role from your user and you should see purchase orders again.

    Nikolaj is correct. It is caused by the external roles added to this user. It is not only about the purchase orders, but it also limits the records on the All vendors page. I wrote a blog about this before: Security in Dynamics 365 F&O: Less is More - Dynamicspedia
