Dynamics 365 Trial with Portals

Posted on by

Hello,

My doubt is about Dynamics 365 Trial and Portals.

As I can see in this website, Portals are included in Dynamics 365 Trial:

https://www.adoxio.com/blogs/team/dynamics-365-trials-now-include-portals/

But in my instance manager I can't see any APPLICATIONS:

As you can see, the instance is available. In this instance I have all modules:

Could you please help me? I would like to set the Portal up to try it.

Thank you very much!

    Hi Anna,

Unfortunately, I think at this point it's most appropriate to raise a ticket with Microsoft, so they can see what is going on under the hood.

    Good luck!

    Hello David,

Thank you for your instructions but i've already done it without any difference, I have still the same problem.

It is only a trial, so that's why I offered you user and pw.

It is posible to arrange a Skype call with you in order to share you my screen?

    What do you think?

Thank you very much for your help.

    Regards,

    Anna Rodriguez

    Hi Anna,

I appreciate the trust, but never share that information with anyone on the community channel. Raising a ticket with Microsoft is the safer approach, which also gives other options that we don't have access to as community members.

Before raising a ticket with Microsoft, though, I have one more suggestion.

    1) Clear out your browser cache

    2) Log in to the instance that seems to be working with all the modules(tallerdynamics010.crm2.dynamics.com)

    3) Once you log in, click on the "Navigate to other applications" link (the blue button in the top left next to Dynamics365).

    4) Scroll down to Admin and click on it

    5) Scroll down to Admin Centers, click on it, then click on Dynamics 365

    6) Click on Applications

This should take you to the admin center for the correct, functioning instance. If the applications still aren't there, then I suggest raising a ticket with Microsoft. There may have been a problem with how the instance was initially set up that nobody here would be able to configure anyway.

Let us know how it goes!

    Hello David,

I've already downloaded 2 trials and I had the same problem. Maybe I mixed screenshots from both of them.

Will it help you if I share the link, user and pw test with you?

    Regards,

    Anna Rodriguez

    Hi Anna,

I would suggest to create a new trial instance instead of figuring out why its not working in the existing trial. It won't take much time (approx 10 mins) and you will get all  the options you needed to try portals

While configuring, on the screen where it ask you to select the scenarios, do not pre select any apps. Select 'None of these. Don’t customize my organization. '

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Anna,

No, this doesn't help set up the Portal directly. I'm trying to figure out why the applications wouldn't be showing.

Just for clarification, I noticed a couple things. I'm not sure if any of these will actually enable you to add the portal to your instance, but hopefully this narrows it down:

    1) Your url in the last snippet in your first post is tallerdynamics010, but your instance is named tallerdynamics01. Did you try to make a trial version prior? How exactly are you getting to your admin page? Are you navigating after logging in to your Dynamics instance (from the third snippet in your first post)?

    2) Your instance type is "prueba." I don't know Spanish too well, but it translated to "test." which I think is meant to translate into "sandbox" type. There should also be a "production" type of instance,

I also noticed in that same graphic you do not have an "edit" button, so it's not letting you change the type of instance you have.

Finally, it says July 2017 Update for Dynamics 365. Can you click on "Actualizaciones" and see if there are any updates available?

    3) You only have four options in the graphic directly above. There should be five (Instances, Updates, Service Health, Backup & Restore, Applications). Can you show us which trial you signed up for?

Does it help to set Portal up?

Thank you very much for your help!

  • RE: Dynamics 365 Trial with Portals

    Hi Anna,

Did you just start this trial? There might be a slight delay in getting things set up.

Also, in your first snip, can you click on Soluciones? Are any solutions being shown there?

    Hi,

If you have admin access of office 365. Click on app navigation >> Admin Center >> Dynamics 365. From there you can install portal instance as a solution.

    Thanks,

    Sandeep
