Hi All,

I 've done 3.8 years in .Net and now one of brand company is offering me to join the MS Dynamics team. How do you think about working with Dynamics? Is it a good thing? Is it better a career with Dynamics or with .Net? Is there a bright future? Please help me with your advice.

Thanks & regards

N raj

I think you got a good opportunity if you want to enter ERP world either as technical consultant (developer) or as functional consultant. I have been in AX since last 7.5 years and truly love this way to doing development and implementation. But if you love extensive coding in .NET and expecting the same in AX then thats not a good way to jump in ERP.

    Hi,

Adding to good advise from Muhammed, It depends on your interest.

Having a good .Net experience does not guarantees you a good dynamics future, of course the knowledge which you have gained in .NET will help you to understand the areas of AX which closely related to .NET like communicating with WCF services, share point, azure deployments, SSRS reporting, Windows/Mobile Apps development.

There are many frameworks inside AX which you will have to learn as they are not available in .Net, you can find details at msdn.microsoft.com/.../aa659223.aspx

You cannot compare AX and .NET as both have different offerings. If you have interest in understanding/modelling/implementing  business processes then AX is a good platform.

    Wish you all the best.

    Thanks,

    Rachit Garg

    Hi Raj,

    Welcome to community...

I think if you join you have bright future ahead...

Now a days Dynamics AX is getting more and more integrated to Visual studio for development...

For me also it was something like this when I joined Dynamics AX... since then I had dream run for my career...

Now with Dynamics AX and Visual studio we can design almost all the application...

...there you will have edge with .net programming and you will take the lead

but you will have to work hard and learn about existing business logic available in Dynamics AX... which will be in X++ which is similar to C++, C# or Java...

    so be confident and join...
