When clicking on the yield sign on the bottom of the Web Client it says you must set up Drill Down capability to view more detailed information. When I click on it to set it up it gives me an error that I must install the latest version of Dexterity Components. I have the latest version for GP 2013 already installed. What does this error really mean. Also, what does the Drill Down do?

Hi Beat,
The yellow triangle does not go away once you setup the drill down. It is still there in case you want to remove the drill down. Once you set it up (using RAA) the drill back to the web client should work just like it does when drilling back using the desktop client.
Thanks
Jodi Christiansen
Hi Steve,
I followed your suggestion by launching IE in RAA mode and the main difference now is that the Drill Down message changed from 'install' to 'remove'... :-)
The yellow warning sign still remains in the footer of the window.
I'm currently testing GP2015R2 web client...
The drill-down is actually a client feature. The Microsoft.Dynamics.GP.ProtocolHandler.exe needs to be installed on each machine that is running the web browser and displaying the web client.
I've copied this procedure from the Web Client Installation and Administration Guide for GP 2013 R2. This same information should apply for Service Pack 2.
Installing drill down
To use drill down in the web client, you must install a component on your local system to support the Dynamics GP protocol. Use the following procedure to install drill down:
1. Start Internet Explorer with administrative privileges. Do this by right-clicking on the icon for Internet Explorer and choosing Run as administrator.
2. Sign in to the web client.
3. In the status area, click the link to set up drill down. Then click Set up Drill Down.
This will do two things. First, it will install the protocol handler. Second, it will write some Registry entries that tell the web client that drill down is installed.
Hope this helps.
I have the same issue at a client site so did anyone find a a resolution? In my client's case it's a single web client installation and the dexterity shared component version (on the web server) is 12.0.270.0 for the Microsoft.Dynamics.GP.ProtocolHandler.exe. This server was used to stage a GP upgrade so it included GP10 dexterity shared components. However, I uninstalled them and repaired GP2013 shared components and I still have the same problem.
Thanks,
Steve Reese
In Server location (most commonly it's in this path \Program Files (x86)\CommonFiles\microsoft shared\Dexterity) where you have Microsoft.Dynamics.GP.ProtocolHandler.exe, can you check the file version . To check File Version do the following steps:
1> Right Click the Microsoft.Dynamics.GP.ProtocolHandler.exe , go to properties.
2> Click "Details" tab in properties window, and check the Product Version.
3> It would be great if you can post here the Product version you see there.

Were you able to fix this issue? We have the same problem.
I wonder if it could be related the 64 bits version of the shared components versus the x86 version.
Thank you
Denis
By the latest version for GP 2013 do you mean that you applied the November GP Update. Because that has the Updated Microsoft.Dynamics.GP.ProtocolHandler.exe file you need for Drill Back.

We always run installs as RAA. Still no luck. Have never seen this error or the warning in the Web Client in any of our other implementations. Both the server and the web client are installed on a Windows 2008 R2 Enterprise OS.
If you haven't already, you should try to run this using "run as administrator".
Thanks
Rob
Ok. Tried that and still get same error.
