Restricting all users from posting

Good afternoon,

Our current process involves manually updating allowed TO and FROM posting date fields for each user in the USER SETUP each month. We needed some efficient way to update posting periods in such a way that it should be applied to all the users at once.

For that what I did is I configured the 'Allow Posting From' & 'Allow Posting to' dates on  the General Ledger setup as follows:

/Previewing
And my 'User Setup' as follows:

Now I should not be able to post any sales/purchases-related transactions with a posting date of 9/1/2023 but when I tried to do so I got this message and clicking on 'Yes' resulted in the posting of sales invoices.

Can you help me with this?

I can't see your pictures, but the General Ledger Setup card has the global allowable posting start/end dates.  The User Setup table is to define the exceptions to what is defined in the Gen. Led. Setup.  The User Setup fields should be blank, except for your accounting users that may need to make adjustments into a past period.  The User Setup table will override your Gen. Led. Setup values.

Hopefully this makes your monthly process a little easier!

In fact, there are three places to set this, and you can adjust it according to your needs.
General Journal Templates > User Setup > General Ledger Setup.

    Hope this helps.
    Thanks.
