Account Structures upload via Atlas / DIXF?

Hi

Is it possible to upload our account structures via the AX 2012 tooling - Atlas or DIXF.

The reason being is that our account structures is three way - we have a main account linked to a cost centre with possible sub accounts. Each one is unique and there is 15000 records. For someone to sit and type this in will take too long as is the added risk of making mistakes.

Please can someone help.

Thanks

Sunette

    Hi Sunette,

There is no standard entity for account structures in DIXF. I have not looken into Atlas as Microsoft has an own office add-in available. Within the office add-in it is also not supported.

If the rules for account structures are straight forward you can try to create an own entity for it, but this will be quite difficult to create caused by the data model of AX.

If the sub accounts are unique over all cost centers, you can also consider creating an organization hierarchy and have this as the input for the combination validations.

Also, is it possible to use wildcards within the entry of your sub accounts?

e.g. every subaccount starting with "A8" should be included? Then you can enter "A8*". This will minimize setup.

I'm not sure, but have the feeling that manual input would be with some smart entering a bit quicker than creating and testing technical solutions. You really have to look how it's being stored in the database and simulate the same behaviour when you develop something for it.
