Use Formula in row on Management Reporter

(0) ShareShare

Posted on by

Hello,

I need help :

I use 3 columms :

1 : Financial Dimension

2: WKS from excel (in order to include an external information :  tonnage)

3: CAL : Add 1+2

In order to have only one visible columm : tonnage and financial account about the same requirement/dimensions

It's right but when I want to have a formula like this : Sales/tonnage for example : it's false.

I think that it's the fact that the formula in columm is priority.

Could you help me please ?

Thanks

A. L.

    Hi AL

Why you want to add 1 and 2 in column 3?

Can't you restrict row 1 to column 1 and row 2 to column 2 and then divide column 1 by 2?

    Best regards

    Ludwig

I want to add column 1 and 2 in order to have only one column per requirement with tonnage(external data) and amount (FD).

I try to work on your solution but It doesn't work.

You can see below a capture, perhaps you will better understand the problem. Of course, information isn't real but i want to have the red formula. I can if you need send rows and columns configuration.

I don't find youtube video about expert use : all of video i see don't show complex calculation. They show where i can find  code or other criterion but not how to do to use it correctly.

Do you know a french user who asked you help ? Can i have his email perhaps ?

    Thanks

    A.L.

    Hi,

Unfortunately, I can't see the columns and cells that you use in your formula. Probably post the screenshot once again with that info.

What might help in addition is the default financial ratios report that has similar calculations included. Have you taken a look at this report? You might borrow from the calculations they make there.

    Best regards

    Hi Ludwig,

    I send Columns and rows.

Is it possible to do ratios if datas are on two columns ? I think I have to gather numbers on only one column, haven't I ?

    Thanks,

    Hi A.L,

You can calculate ratios based on data that are in two columns. This typically requires that you declare those columns to be non-printing columns and add them in a third column.

When trying to do that you have to be patient - because you probably will need a lot of testing to get this work.

Yet, before doing that rethink whether the financial management reporter is the right tool for this analysis because to me it sounds that you might be better off with the standard BI tools that have a lot of out of the box KPI functionalities that you can extend as you need. This is more a 'strategic' decision where you and your colleagues have to decide on the purpose, addressees and the right reporting tool.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

I succeeded by testing several times and

especially when I realized that we could put formulas directly in the lines by freezing other data.

    Thanks for your Help anyway

    See you later
