How can we block a sales order in AX2012.? Blocking process steps are help full.

Hi Hari,
You can mark a sales line as stopped, by turning on the stopped check box available at Sales line details -> General -> Status -> Stopped check box field.
This stops any further processing of sales line in the system. There is a nice blog post for this:

I don't notice anything option that let you conveniently stop a Sales Order as a unit.
It is straight forward to add a checkbox to Sales Order header with some logic to achieve this behavior.
You can also consider setting the order type to 'Journal'. In this case you cannot proceed with delivery and invoicing. Note that this option will result in not having item transactions for the journal lines. So no reservation can be done. Also these sales orders are not visible in the On hand form.
You will have to create a procedure to manage the 'Journal' sales orders.
