Hello all,

Is there a specific configuration in the D365 Finance and Operations Master Planning module to generate separate planned purchase orders for safety stock? My user would like to see separate planned purchase orders for actual demand versus safety stock, regardless of requirement and requested dates.

Thank you!

    Hi MM,

You should go following setps to run Master Planning module to generate separate planned purchase orders for safety stock in the D365 Finance and Operations:

    1. Setup Item coverage for items, E.g
    2. Setup seperated Master plans for your safety stock.

    3. Now you can go to Released product > Plan > Requirements > Net requirements for your checking item by item.
    4. Or you can run Master planning for mass runing and checking.

You will see whole Planned purchase orders will be created for all safety stocks:

I think this not acheiveable as long as the item coverage is min/max or decoupling point , then the system will create the purchase order if the on hand is below the min in case of Min/Max or below the Reorder incase of decoupling point , if the user wishes to see the requirement that is being fullfilled and how much is safety stock vs how much is in demand he can check requirement profile in planned order .
