posting account: accttype =0 and noteindex - 0.0000

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

We created a posting account (or what should be a posting account) of income statement type, but are unable now to post to it or to pull it up in cards to delete or modify.

When pulling it up in account maintenance, an error message says that this account is not a posting account.

When pulling it up in unit account maintenance, an error message says that this is not a unit account.

I didn't create the account but our standard practice is to pull up an existing account of the same basic type, save (to pull all the posting settings) and then create the new account.

The two anomalies in its setup in GL00100 seem to be that its accttype is 0 zero but should be 1 and its noteindex is 0.0000.

I ran maintenance >> check links against the Account Master but no errors were found.

Can anyone advise how we can repair this account?

Thanks

Paul

    Paul,

I will suggest you to run checklink and Reconciliation on Accounts Master.

    That may repair data.

    Thanks

I would start by looking to see if there are any other accounts like this.

    Step 1)Select * from GL00100 where accttype=0

Step 2)Select * from DYNAMICS..SY001500 and note the NOTEINDX for this company by looking at INTERID

Step 3)select dex_row_id from gl00100 where acctype=0 and make note of the dex_row_id value

    then

    Step 4) update GL00100 set ACCTTYPE=1,NOTEINDX =Value from Step 2 where DEX_ROW_ID = Value from Step 3

    finally

Step 5) Update DYNAMICS..SY01500 set NOTEINDX=NOTEINDX+1 where INTERID = value from Step 2

Of course. make a backup of your DYNAMICS and company database and do this while no one is using GP.
