the base machine is called host. the vpc image inside is called guest.

do you want online connection from host to guest? or just a 1 time copy of guest sql data?

online - try  to ping, you have to install SQL in your host and hit the guest sql machine.

one time copy - back up your data from the guest sql enterprise manager .bak file and drag this file from guest to host maybe on the dektop. now you can restore .bak file into your host sql.

    hi,

i am not sure if you can use econnect, there are members here who are developers, they may can give you a clearer answer. may I know why do you want to use econnect?

on the other hand, as I have noted you can use SQL enterprise manager to connect online, the first option.

    Thanks de jesus,

I wil not be satisfied with one time copy of SQL data...I want to devolop a web application which takes data from GP,update it and put it back on GP..Can I able to this without eConnect or some other API like eConnect?

You will need to setup the eConnect Requester Service for which you will need an outgoing message queue -- this means you will need to setup MSMQ on the eConnect/GP server. You can find more infomation on setting up the eConnect Requester Service in the eConnect SDK.

In the destination machine, where I assume you will have your .NET application, you will need to setup an incoming queue, used to retrieve data from the eConnect MSMQ queue on the other machine. For this you can take a look at my article Retrieving an eConnect XML Message from MSMQ
