Import Inventory records

Is there a way to import images, Item Category Code and Vendor No. for an Inventory Item?

I'm importing a large number of items and this is taking a very long time to manually setup!

It will be a good feature if I can drag and drop images to the inventory card.

    Hello,

There isn't currently a built-in method for importing item images.  I will flag this post as a feature suggestion for Dev to look at.

If you're importing from the Excel template you can use an Item Template that specifies an 'Item Category Code'.  Click the 'Settings' button at the bottom of the Wizard when doing an Excel Template data migration.  There isn't a way to specify a Vendor No. for an item on an import either.

Chris, I was able to do the standard import and after I got the inventory imported, I exported the list to Excel, I was then able to add the Vendor field and update from Excel.  The image is the only thing I had to do manually.

If the Dev team can work on a way to add images from OneDrive that would be great. Here is an idea from another web solution I've work with. If we can have a folder in OneDrive specifically for images, so we can put images with the Item Number as the file name and then it can match it up if it finds inventory with the same name, if no inventory with matching name it would take the images and move it to a rejected images folder, of even generate a log of the matched and rejected.

    Thanks for your help.

That's an excellent idea, thank you so much for the feedback!  The work-around of exporting to Excel and updating further is great too, I'm sure others will find this suggestion useful.
