The Quotation Line Entity cannot be updated using a workflow in Microsoft Dynamics 365

Posted on by 135
Hello Dynamics365 Community, how are you?
Please, I need some help, it happens that when I try to update any field (even custom and non-standard Dynamics365 fields) from the Quotation Line entity, using a Workflow,
this entity is not available for updating in the Flow update action of Work. So, please, would anyone know the reason for this behavior? Is this a standard behavior for this
Dynamics365 entity?
Does anyone know how to get around this scenario? Follow the screen print below for an example.
I am grateful in advance.

    Hello Daniel,

If you use Dynamics CRM online, you have the possibility to use Ms flow, this doesn't need any code.

    Hi Daniel,

You can use flow to update quote line entity, which is a codeless way.

1.Go Power Automate(https://us.flow.microsoft.com/en-us/ ) to create an automated flow.

    2.Set trigger.

    3.Add ‘Update a record’ action.

Hello Mehdi El Amri, thank you very much for your assistance, it was very clear.

Taking advantage, by any chance, do you know any Plugin already ready for this purpose without the need for development?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello,

This is by design. There are special entities that cannot be updated with a workflow. Here you will find the list of the entities that support or not the modifications via a workflow:

    Supported entities for processes

The following table lists the entities that can be used to trigger process execution or to create a record within a process by using the CreateEntity class. This list is determined by the CanTriggerWorkflow property for each entity.

You can use power automaton (Flow) or plugins instead of standard workflows.
