Hi,

does anyone know it its possible to create a Portal User (Contact) using Power Automate?

Today we use legacy WF and a adxstudio plugin to generate the security stamp that i think needs to be active in order for users to be able to reset the password and login.

Hi Partner,

Actually the portal user is contact in D365, so we do could use Power Automate to create Contact automatically.

1.Create a new Flow with the trigger you need.

2.Add a new step to create new contact.

If my understanding is not correct, please feel free to let me konw.

Hi Leo,

Thanks for your reply, but I wonder in order for it to be a portal contact the security stamp needs to be set. But maybe it as you posted would just be to set the password field to a random hash so when a user wants togin on the portal they just do a reset password and they should be good to go.

So you don't think we need to set the security stamp?

Hi Partner,

Security stamp should be set automatically when sign up new user(contact) for portal in D365, so if you want to create contact by power automate, it is also needed, sorry that in my screenshot I only provided an example about how to create contact by power automate.

We do need to set the value for all needed fields.

Hi Partner,

Yes, we could generate the stamp in power automate automatically. As we know the security stamp is a GUID value, so we just need to set a new GUID to security stamp field.

We should use the "guid()" function in power automate, I test it and worked well.
