Relationship behavior disabled in 1:N Relationship

Hi everyone,

When the account owner changes the owner of the activities associated with it also changes.

I have a requirement to retain the owner of the activity even if the account owner changes.

However, when I go to the Relationship Behaviour under the 1:N relationship of the activity the options are disabled.

Is there any work around to avoid changing the Activity owner name when the account owner is changed?

Any links or ways to achieve this would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

    Hello,

You will have to go through relationships for all activities entities individually like account-task relationship, then account-email and so on.

    Hi Andrew,

This how the fields are in the relationships:

The field under Relationship Behavior are all disabled. These are the same for all the Activity relationships.

Am I missing out on something here?

    Hi Nikki,

You are correct . This is because these are system relationship so you cant change .

This is normal and this is OOB functionality in Dynamics CRM , Account should have some  owner or CRM user who basically deals with this particular  Organization customer. Now all the associated task should be own by owner of the that particular account.  Now if the CRM user is left the job now second owner or new owner should be responsible for everything for that account.

If you want to change the default behavior then you need to do some customization using workflow or plugin.

As I wrote in previous reply you should check individual relationships between account and activities. Here is how relationship looks like for Account and Tasks:

As you can see relationship behavior is configurable here.
