All,

I am setting up a consignment process for a new supplier that has a different price for each lot produced (batch id). I have created a new tracking dimension group and have enabled BOTH the Batch and Owner dimensions. But.... Lot Id is only important for pricing purposes. Once I complete the inventory ownership change journal, I don't care about lot id anymore.

I am attempting to enable the check box for Blank Issue Allowed but D365 will not allow this for warehouse managed items. I DO NOT want to have to add the batch id number to every transfer journal, cycle count, physical inventory tag, etc. I really don't want to turn off warehouse management on the item because I need it for the generation of replenishment work and raw material picking work for production orders. Does anyone know how to configure a warehouse managed item so that batch id is no longer a requirement after the inventory ownership journal has been posted?

Is there a way to do this?

Hi John,

Unfortunately, there is no workaround for this for your specific combination of requirements. You can consider creating a customization that will auto-populate (reserve?) an available lot number.
