Management Reporter links to Sharepoint - Issues

Posted on by 415

I am having a strange issue where only some reports give the error:

Unable to create the related report link in: 'http://sharepointserver/finance/mrreports/2014%20-%20financials%20-%20departments/01-january'

From what I have read this is typically attributed to the Process Service service account not having Design rights to the SharePoint library.

The service account has the correct rights and can generate some reports just fine. Other reports give the above error. I can see no particular pattern to which reports work and which reports do not.

It should be noted that we previously had the Process Service on a separate server from the Application Service. We recently removed it from it's server, powered it down and installed it on the same server as the Application Service when we updated to CU8.

Could moving the Process Service be the cause of the reports to SharePoint issue? The service account didn't change, the Process Service was merely installed on the same server as the Application Service and the old server powered down.

Hi.  Did you figure out why reports are being over written in Sharepoint from Management Reporter, even with different distribution names?  I am trying to keep various versions of the same report, but the SP files are being over written in SP even though it has prior date and time in SP, but click the link and goes to the report just run even though the file names weren't the same.

Was the file names. Accounting removed characters that SharePoint doesn't like and reports generate to the proper locations. Now to figure out why reports keep getting overwritten when outputting to a different report link location from previous reports.

Just going through and looking at report names this looks like it is likely the issue. Will report back after testing.

    Hi Rhousz,

launch MR configuration console, check Management Report Process Service and make sure that the service account has to have Designer permission in that SP library.

else please find the attached KB Article that may resolve the above issue
