80% of Storage Limit Warning Emails

So my CRM Online deployment has reached 80% of the storage limit, which is fine, it is only growing at about 1% per month.  The problem is that MS claims that they cannot turn off the warning emails, or modify the recipient list.  That means that all 25 of my users will receive a daily email warning until I purchase more storage space, which I was not wanting to do until I reached 90% +.  MS recommended to me that I delete data to get back below the 80% threshold if I don't want the emails to continue!! Are you kidding me!?  Has anyone else experienced this and found a reasonable resolution?

Good luck.  I will raise some stink again too. Pushing 2 years now and still an issue.

It clear that microsoft just wants to generate extra income with this. I'm going to create a ticket for this with our account manager, because this is just plain bullshit...

We grow by around 100 mb / month and still have 5GB of space left, i don't need those daily mails!!!

You're so right. This situation is disgusting. What happens if you've purchased 100Gb of space, will it still give you the message when it gets to 80%. Not good. My users don't need to see it, it's a real pain and all I get are complaints.

Come on Microsoft I don't need to buy further space yet, I'm managing what I have and not only that, you're adding to the problem by sending the emails in the first place.

I'm bumping this post since we too have this annoying problem.

We want to remove the splash screen for certain users and this should be a feature on their security role. The splash screen causes problems while using Outlook-plugin and it disturbes the flow of work.

    We're using CRM13

Aaron, any luck on this?  Every evening each user is still getting this warning.  Its confusing and should only go to Administrators.

RE: 80% of Storage Limit Warning Emails

    Aaron,

Every user on our system gets an email every day stating the following:

    Storage Limit Reached

    Dear Administrator,

Your organization, Richards Energy, has reached 80% of its storage limit. When the storage limit is exceeded, people will be unable to add data, such as records, to Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online.

To avoid exceeding the storage limit, we recommend the following approaches:

    1. Delete any data that you no longer need. After you delete data, it may take 24 hours to reflect the deletion. Learn how to effectively free storage space.

    2. If you have the appropriate privileges, you can purchase additional storage for your organization.

    Thank you,

The Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online Team

It also pops up on the screen as soon as a user logs in.  We are at around 81% of our space used, but not growing super rapidly.  We are in the cloud and updated about 3 weeks ago.  Thanks!

AaronRic, if you had read the thread you would see that we do not have the ability to turn off these daily 80% full annoying emails / alerts to all users with sufficient privileges.

Even though our database size grows very slowly we are required to purchase more data just to turn off these alerts that are often sent to management.

    We feel this is extortion.

Hi Peter, where are you seeing issues and what are the circumstances of the situation in CRM 2013? This may be something we need to investigate.

I can't believe this wasn't fixed with 2013... Just going through another round of this. This should totally be administrator configurable.

This has been a thorn in my side for the longest time. It is a pain in the ass, and yes, Microsoft is definitely making a stand on this one, by not letting users at the very least, change the % parameter for notifications based on THEIR data storage consumption. I have had to continually purchase the additional Gigs to stop the annoying messages. I will not max out for another 6-10 months...and understand the issue with regards to max capacity...but still...allow the users control over the % (or at least give the option of going to 90%!!), as well as the option to not have it show for all users!!!
