Could someone let me know how inactive item numbers can be removed from countsheets printed off for our inventory counts?  Thanks.

There is no filter for inactive items in the Stock Count Schedule Mass Add.  Can you enter a value in the Generic Description field for all Active items so you can select the stock count based on that value?  Or maybe assign your Inactive items to a specific Site ID and exclude that site from the selection?

    Hi

Love having a little challenge to solve.  Frank is right - there is no filter on the inactive for selecting the stock items.  So I turned to the other option - excluding them from the reports.

I had an item on my stock count schedule that I marked inactive.  I then modified the report to include a calculated field:

If Line Item - Inactive = 1, true case 0, false case 1.

Add the calculated field to the body of the report.

Under section options, choose to suppress the body if the calculated field is empty.

    It worked brilliantly.

An advantage with that also would be that if the item was no longer inactive, then it would still be on your stock count schedule and would then automatically start printing on the report.

I have assumed a level of Report Writer understanding here - if you need more step by step, let me know and I can provide it.

    Cheers

    Heather

I like that approach; however, doesn't the item still have to be verified?

    Hi Albert

Sorry for the delay.  With changes to Inactive items, this is proving more difficult now.  I can get it to exclude if the overall item is Inactive - but not if it is inactive for the site only.  So this will point you in the right direction.

    1. Create a calculated field to pull whether the item is inactive or not:

    2. Add this field to the report section that has the Item Number.  Then double click the field and mark the field as Invisible:

    3.  In the section options, for the section based on Item Number (one of the header records), click on the header and select "Open".  Mark to suppress the section if your calculated field is empty:

Now run the report and you should not see the Inactive item.

    Cheers

    Hi Heather,

How are you doing.  On the above modification only the report will remove the inactive items and stock entry window will have the inactive items.  Can you please confirm this, I am trying to remove the inactive items not to be shown on stock entry window do you have any magic answer for that :-)
