SSRS: Rectangle not repeating on multiple pages in PDF with table contents

I have a rectangle which contains a Table (i.e. Tablix1) and a rectangle (i.e. Rectangle1) in it side by side like this:

Now my table data is spanning to multiple pages in PDF and I want the contents in my rectangle to repeat on every page of PDF as it is.

I have tried setting Tablix1 in RepeatWith property of the Rectangle1 but it is not giving my the desired result. Rectangle1 is only showing on the first page.

Can any one guide if I am missing something here or is there any other approach to achieve this?

Note: It is only causing an issue when rendering to PDF. If I see the report in report viewer with multiple pages, the rectangle repeats just fine.

I have the same question (0)

    Hi Hassan,

If you are using the legacy SSRS report viewer, I too had few hiccups with Page numbers while exporting to PDF, fixed it by enabling PDF viewer. Did you try using the new Pdf viewer rather than the legacy SSRS viewer?

    Hi Hassan,

You can add your rectangle to the row header of the table.

Then change the cell's property RepeatOnNewPage.

    Result as:

    Hi Hassan,

The behavior you are seeing is by design. The RepeatWith functionality is not supported in "physical pagination" renderers: Print, Image, and PDF.

You may need to look at designing other feasible report layout. Thank you.

    Hello Hassan,

What kind of report do you try to design here?

I'm wondering whether SSRS is the right tool for that?

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

Thanks for your replies guys.. I got busy and couldn't look back to this thread.

As Raju suggested it is a known issue with hard page break renders like PDF, print etc.

And Wang's suggestion is also not applicable because RepeatOnNewPage property only works when there is a data in detail which is going to second page which is not the case here.

However, I have achieved my target by a workaround. I fixed my table 1 to 4 rows on each page (as it was appearing in PDF) and then enter rectangle one in another table's (with same dataset) cell with a group for page break. And in that group I have also setup the same expression to restrict 4 rows of dataset on one page.

Here is the expression I have used for page break groups: "=CEILING(RowNumber(Nothing)/4)".
