Cannot drill to GP2015 from Management Reporter 2012 CU12

Hi,

When I try to drill back to GP2015 from MR Viewer, the icon turns grey and nothing happens. I have GP open. I am an administrator in MR, a Domain Admin and a PowerUser in GP. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Carolyn

When you open the report in MR designer, you have a setting called "Detail level" in the report tab. You can't drill if you generate the report with financial, you have to select "financial & account" or "Financial, Account & transaction".

If that doesn't work, check your reporting tree. If you try to drill a group with non-print units, it doesn't work. you  have to remopve the "NP" page option.

    Hope it helped

    Hello

I am having the same issue.  My report is going to transaction level, I have clicked on a value on a periodic column, I made sure I logged directly into the same company as MR rather then switching companies,  I am logged into GP as sa.  As soon as I click on the Dynamics GP icon it flashes with the egg timer like its thinking about doing something but nothing happens and the icon wont appear again.

    Any suggestions welcome.

    Thanks

    Hi Lisa,

Did you resolve this, as I am having the same issue with GP2015 R2 and Management Reporter CU13.

Did you receive a resolution to this?  Encountering the same drill down issue.

    Thanks!

    Hi Carolyn -

Did you ever get an answer to this?  Experiencing the same issue.

    Thanks!

I have the same issue. FWIW, I know that the drill to dynamics feature only works if you have the data mart implemented  (not the legacy integration).

Customer with the same problem.  Testing, the link to Dynamics lights up, credentials are requested, then nothing happens.  Subsequently the Dynamics button is not even lit up.

I've seen a couple of posts and blogs referencing that the drill back from MR to GP is only available on datamart MR's.  I have not been able to find anything official / Msft GP documented saying this.

Can anyone confirm its validity / provide a link to official documentation?

    thanks!

I have not resolved this issue. It started happening when I upgraded to the current version of MR.

    Hi CJ

I'm still searching for something official but it does seem that legacy provider connections will no longer drill back to Dynamics where as the datamart provider will.

Funny that you mention that about the Legacy not working.  We did an update just recently for a client, moved them off FRx and onto MR - no issues - used Legacy ( not sure why ) and all is well with the system - until user tries to drill back - no button access.

But when I tested on my Sandbox - it worked just fine - then I read this thread and when and looked at my Sandbox - I am running DataMart.  So that explains that one.

However, I also just did a patch update for a client here in Canada, and they are running the DataMart version of MR and when we try to drill back we get nothing - first time timer spins - then the button goes dim.  After a full machine shut down and restart the button is back - click once - nothing and then gone again.

Hope Microsoft gets this fixed soon.
