Remove "Account Name" column from Contact Sub-grid in Account Form

Hi Experts,

We have a Contact Sub-grid in Account form (Account = Customer). They want us to remove the "Customer Name/Account Name" column from the Sub-grid (when opened in Customer/Account form only) without updating the existing Active Contacts view or creating a new view. I will check if this can be done from plugin retrieve multiple. I'd like to know if there are any other way to remove this view dynamically on Customer/Account form?

Thanks in advance.

    Hello,

I'm really sorry but what's the point to touch VS when you can do it without. Why it's not allowed to create a new View? Just create a new view, reference it in the subgrid and deactivate it after. It is there but it's not accessible by users.

    Hi Andrew,

Is that even possible? To create a new view, set that as default view of the sub-grid then deactivate it? If User tried to view the grid, they will still see that deactivated view and not a new view? I haven't tried this yet but thanks for the information. Will try to do this.

Clients don't want their Users see a new view on the view selection that is why we cant create a new view.

This works. I tried that in real deployments.

    Hi

I would recommend you create a new View for this and hide the view in the plugin on Retrieve Multiple message to SaveQuery entity

If a form subgrid has a view set, if the view is deactivated, it will default to My Active.. View.  So deactivating view will not work based on the test i have done now on a latest version of trial.

You could definitely use javascript and see if you could hide the column but that's unsupported

One other option would be to drop a PowerApp with one screen list with all the columns you need if that suits your requirements

    Hi,

I tried setting up a view and then deactivating it. It still work even after deactivating. I have tried on  Version 1710 (9.1.0.3643) online. I would suggest to try this on your environment and see if it works. If it works, this would be the easiest workaround.

    Hope this helps.
