Lookup to EcoResProductCategory

Hello,

I have extended InventTable and add a new Int64 field. I want this to lookup to EcoResProductCategory and to return the category name selected.

Can some one please advise on how I can achieve this.

    Hi Norman Elliott,

    Create foreign key  relation between InventTable  and EcoResProductCategory , you can find blogs with step by step instructions, like community.dynamics.com/.../table-keys-replacement-key-in-ax-2012 or refer to documentation msdn.microsoft.com/.../hh812105.aspx

    They are about 2012 but nothing has changed there.

    Hi Ievgen,

    on the InventTable extension it is not possible to create an Alternate keys for EcoResProductCategory because alternate keys have to be unique.

    I have added foreign key relation and this does provide a lookup but it does not return the category name.

    Could you please advise further?

    I think is a wrong table. If you need a name you need to use EcoResCategory, because it has a name and it is Alternate key there.

    EcoResProductCategory  links product to category and it does not make any sense for me to store rec id of this table on item.
