How to create a form without adding data source.

Can we create a form without adding data source.

If can, can you elaborate the method please.

You are free to create Forms without DataSources.

The form(s) typically has controls and DataSources. It is not must for Control to be bound with DataSources.

What you are trying to do? and what difficulty you are facing while doing?

Hi,

Yes you can create Forms without adding data sources. Data sourace is added to the form when you want to display the data on the form.

To Create Form , In the AOT right click forms and create new form. ( from template ) or you can do it also from scratch.

Hi Ravi Teja Tanguturi,

Can you please explain us, which type of form your going to create.

you can create a form without Adding Data source. but if you want to save the data in a table. you need to write the code in the clicked method in that form.

This is my past Experience, please try by this way.

This is just a suggestion.

Hi Ravi,

Without adding datasource to a form even if you write data in form control's then next time when you open the form the form will look fresh it will not display any data since there is no table to store data so that form can display it. So if you please try to elaborate your requirements further we can help you.

If you will look at Dialog you will see that it is a form without data source and it's probably most used form in AX. So it perfectly makes sense in some cases.

It is hard to help you without understanding what are you trying to achieve.

Step 1: If that is Dialog form then you need to find Query begin run Dialog form, it is in class caller dialod form. i need more info !
