Hi,

Can anybody tell me what a default way of working is with the mobile devices?

First. we struggle with having the mobile device, but than entering the work order in is cumbersome (or you need to print the work detail..with a very small barcode font which is not easy to scan). I added a work list overview with all work items..I hope AX will not assign 1 pick up to multiple people.

Second, once the picking is ready...how then to know which work order belongs to that work item on the mobile device. The mobile device will not tell for what sales order it is. So on the outbound it is difficult to say to what order that pieces of works belong. Once back on the packing table we leave the picked items to the person there to have them packed..but how to know what belongs to what?

Great. Thanks. I am looking into that. I setup like below and also turned of the license plate generation and used a fictive bin-1 and bin-2. Till the bin-1 is packed I was not able to reuse it for another pick. So basically you could use a bin-1 and pill all items in it. Then move it to the outbound. However for pallets this works differently. A pallet is also moved into the truck and the license plate is away as well. So there the printing of a specific license plate might be useful. The printing I have looked into already. I believed it was only for ZPL language or can other printers also be used?

The bin-1, bin-2 still require a print to know the sales order number which must be packed. Is there a way to start with license plate and select sales order from there?

1. Yes. With system assigned work, the system picks from eligible work orders and assigns the worker with what you want them to work on. You have control over what assigned to the worker. You can for instance create different menu items for different line of work and decide how they are sorted++.

2. Either fixed or generated ones. The nice thing about license plates it that they are oblivious to what they are. It can be a sheet of laminated paper with a string that you put on a box... And the box contains the items associated with the license plate.

3. Well... From a pickers perspective the solution doesn't just straight up present them with the data either on screen or on any paper. But... The license plates that are printed should be able contain this info. Take a closer look into the "print" functionality in the work templates. :)

1. You mean with system assigned work, every worker will get work assigned automatically once logged in?

2. You mean I must create some bins or pallets, small car with a fixed license plate which are reused for every work?

3. How to know directly in AX which bin is than connected to which sales order?

You can use system assigned work instead of worker assigned for the picking menu item.

The the worker will be assigned a work on the mobile device.

Can you use a destination bin with lisence plate attached it to know where you left the picked goods for shipping preparation?
