GP 10.0 with SP4, SQL 2008 Standard In the Smartlist, we need to list out a list of Sales Line Items data together with a added column for Comment fields. I have added all comment related columns, but none of them can show the Comment data entered at Line item level. It show only the Comment field content is from Sales Transaction Level (Sales WORK or Header). I need to output the Smartlist with Sales Line Item data + the comment text that keyed in at Line Item Level. Please advise, thank you.

    William,

    Not only in Dynamics GP 10.0 but in GP 9.0 it didn't show comment data in standard smart list-May be other can correct us.

    Following SQL Script may help you to build your own smartlist if you have smartilist builder or can generate report using SSRS or other reporting tools.

    select

    * from SOP10202  --Comment Table

    select * from SOp30300  -- Posted Transaction Sales Line Item

    Thanks

    Sandip

    Sandip is right, no 'out-of-the-box' SmartList will show the comment text.  SmartList Builder is the way to go for this.

    I love SmartList Builder, but let's not forget about the Integrated Excel reports we now have available. Some of my clients are seeing SmartList as a memory, and Excel the way to go. As a bonus, you can create your own .odc file and pass it around for any new reports you build - from any data source!

    Kind regards,

    Leslie

    Leslie,

    Great point.  We are seeing a sharp increase in the 'popularity' of Excel reports.  To me, it's really six of one half dozen of another, as typically anything I create in either SLB or Excel will be based on SQL code anyway.  :-)

    Hi Victoria, So true!! Once you have the select statement you can publish it to the report writer of your choice! Some day perhaps the masses will realize that the question of "What tables?" is thebiggest question of all. Job security :) Kind regards, Leslie

    Too bad, not all clients are purchase GP together with Smarlist builder.

    It hard to justify for additional cost (smartlist builder) charge to the client who just need the Comment Text from Line Item.

    Anyway, many thanks to you all feedback.
