Workflow message not showing from editable grid

We have a workflow to ensure that a field cannot be changed if certain conditions are met.  If this field is changed from an editable grid, the workflow is cancelled and the change gets discarded, as hoped - but the cancellation message we set does not show.  It works fine in the regular form for the entity.  Is this expected behaviour?  Any way around it, if so?

    Hi,

I tested in my environment V9.1, The message will not pop up, but it will show in different way.

Interesting...to confirm, that's the message from a workflow, set when it's cancelled?

We're on-prem, so of course don't have 9.1 yet, or even 9 at all.  Anyone with on-prem able to confirm what it does for them?  Or ideally the preview on on-prem 9?

Okay... thanks!  At the very least, hopefully we'll see it addressed in the future at some point, if it's in the current online version.  It's a start.  :-)

    Hi,

if you still cant make it work, perhaps temporary you can use JS instead of workflow and put it into the editable grid. You can easily goolge it on how to achieve it.

Hoping to avoid custom code whenever possible - still hoping it's actually in the version we have, but maybe we're missing something?  And/or on the news supposedly coming tomorrow about the v9 release.  But if there's no news on those fronts, maybe we'll have to go that way.  :-(  Thanks!
