Migrate Transaction to New Financial Dimension Structure

Dear Experts,

I'm developer of Microsoft Dynamic AX 2012 R3 

After 1 year usage of AX, our client decide to change Account Structure Financial Dimension and want to migrate all transaction on this year to use new account structure financial dimension.

What I think is :

1. Reverse all transactions from the beginning of this year until May

2. Recreate all transactions from the beginning of this year until May with new financial dimension

But how to do that?

    Hi,

    Wouldn't it be sufficient to change the account structure, activate it and then start using it for future transactions?

    Why do you need to adjust transactions that have already been posted?

    If you really need to adjust historical transactions who is able to do that and can - for example - assign the new financial dimension values to those old transactions? Is this feasible?

    Yes, We changed the account structure and current transaction use new account structure

    Our client said for audit purpose

    That's what I want to know, we want to assign the new financial dimension values to posted transaction on some month period

    Any advice how to do that?

    Hello Bintang,

    You just need the new account structure / postings in the general ledger is that right?

    Are your accountants ok if they get the new postings updated on a summarized ledgeraccount-findim Level or do they expect that each and every transaction is adjusted?

    Hi Ludwig,

    At least we do at general ledger, but if possible we will adjust on every module (AP, AR, FA)

    We expect that each transaction will adjust with new financial dimension
