Creating Staging Table

Hi Community,

My main motive is to export data to Azure Sql from D365 FO. For that I need to create a data staging table for the 'DimensionCombinationEntity'. I have checked the menu by right clicking on the entity that there is no staging table attached and thus regeneration of staging table or updating of the same is not allowed. Can anyone help me on this to how to create a staging table for a base entity.

I have the same question (0)

I assume your actual requirement is: "I want to be able to export dimension combinations to Azure SQL".

DimensionCombinationEntity is not enabled for data management (property "DataManagementEnabled" is No), and therefore no staging table is needed, either.

If you want to export this data via data management, you should copy the entity and enable data management on the copy.

Don't forget to change the label, PublicCollectionName and PublicEntityName to something unique.

    HI Debasish,

The "Regenerate/update Staing table" option is disabled when the entity's Data Management Enable is No.

As already mentioned, you can use "Duplicate in Project", then add staging table to entity.

You can also try to create custom entities to add data sources, and then complete your needs.

DimensionCombinationEntity isn't intended to be used directly for import and export. It's used as a data source of other entities (which may support data management). For example, look at CustomerPaymentJournalLineEntity.

That's also why the entity key of DimensionCombinationEntity is RecordId, which isn't useful for communication with other systems.
