Hi All,

can we redirect home page to another external web page in portal dynamics 365 ?

I am trying to redirect it but it ask for partial url , can we do it for home page ?

Hi, You can always add a redirect but as with any redirects, the url will change to redirected page as well.

Hi,

But what should I keep as internal URL in redirect...in website I selected my home page what should I put as Internal URL to redirect home page.

Hi Pranav,

Thanks for replying.

We are using portal for registration form and storing data in lead entity. So I created a web form and various web steps in lead entity to achieve this. We only wants to use that web form. My URL looks like this :

https:/companyname.microsoftcrmportals.com/register ----------web form URL.

if user removes register and only tries to access :

https:/companyname.microsoftcrmportals.com -----home url

then we would like to redirect it to our company website which is external. We already have a website and doesn't have time to change home page design and hence looking for a solution.

I tried creating redirect with following details:

so my question is can I redirect home URL to another address, if yes then what should i put in inbound URL .

Your help will be appreciated.

Hello - I got what you are saying, I guess you can give it try like this

Portal settings-->WebPages-->Home--> Partical url = replace "/" with something like "Home" then perhaps you may be able to give it in redirect url.

IMP: Be aware this change may cause your website to misbehave.

Hello Nirmal,

As per your post What I understood is , when ever user trying to Change/ Navigate to Home Page of your portal you want to navigate to your company website (which is external site), If My Understanding is correct Don't Try to Update any of Home Web page data, in Home Web Template by writing some script you can redirect to any other URL's(external / Within Portal) but here first it will load home page URL and redirects to your company website Page .

Yes, we can able to redirect the external web page by modifying the HomePage Webtemplate Liquid template code

line of code: window.open("yourpageurl");

or

we can write the javascript code in the webpage Javascript

$(document).ready(function () {

window.open("your page url");

});

Thank you everyone for giving your suggestions, as suggested I didn't change in webpage and wrote liquid template in web template.

I achieved using following code.

Window.location.replace("YourPageUrl");
