Hi, I have a query for those who have been using NAV in the older versions as well. The older versions of NAV used to have a feature of synchronizing contacts, tasks and meetings between Outlook and NAV. The new Outlook synchronization is more about embedding NAV functionality within Outlook which is excellent and I have achieved this successfully following a blog.
My query is how do we achieve the old functionality of syncing contacts, meeting requests and to-dos between D365BC and Outlook? Would appreciate suggestions and comments on this. Thanks.
Hello,
Dynamics NAV 2018 is able to synch contacts of company type, person type, salespersons, tasks and to-do's of meeting type out of the box.
It is only with Business Central that this feature is being removed / hidden.
Thanks.
Hi Marco,
I am using an On-Premise Cronus NAV 2018 to check this.
I used a 2017 blog to enable the Outlook add-in the instance using a self-signed SSL and web client. It works quite well. Although my intent was to achieve the synchronization of the meeting and tasks between Outlook and NAV which you confirmed is coming in a future release.
Thanks.
Hello,
Are you using the Cloud release of Dynamics 365 Business Central? For Business Central in the cloud, this does seem to be difficult indeed:
Thanks.
Hi Marco,
Thank you for the update. That surely helps. I hope the release happens soon. Thanks.
Hello,
This is still part of the version 160 release.
Thanks
