Map fields between different Entities using Business Process Flow

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hello everyone!

Is it possible to Map fields from one Entitiy to another on the Business Process flow?

Lets say first stage is on Phone Call Entity and then i want to go to the second Stage Email . I  want to map the Phone Call From with the From Email and the Phone Call To with the Email To .

I can do this without using Business Process flows and using ONLY Workflows. Can this be done with Business Process flow or with Combination with Workflows?

    Hi Shak

You cannot achieve this OOB. Although you can map phone call to case and opportunity through Business Process Flow but not Phone Call to Email.

Although you can map regarding field but not From & To fields

I want to use multiple entities in the BPF . When i go from one entity to another to map the values. However in Dynamics 365 i create a new solution and when i add a new BPF and add a workflow to a stage , i can't find any workflow from the lookup. The only way to do it is by creating the BPF in the Default Solution where workflows are visible.

    Hi

The BPF should be created on the entity you want it to run and the workflow would be a process based on that entity

Problem is that on CRM Online with a new solution , when you choose to create a BPF and try to add workflows in there, it won't find any of them. They have to be part of the Default Solution.

    Hi Shak

Each BPF has a stage so you can have a workflow trigger based on the following

    1) On Update of BPF Stage check if the stage = (your email stage)

    2) If it does then create a new email

    3) update email information from related Phone call

You could also use relationship maps to do it as well
