Is there a how to guide for posting a subscription center on an external website?

All available information I've found has been very vague, telling me how to create the subscription centre, but nothing at all about external hosting.

Hi Lee,

1. Authenticate you domain in Settings > Authenticated domains.

2. Copy the generated script of subscription center type form and embed it to your web page.

3. Create a new content settings record(or edit the default), insert the URL of the page where the form is hosting into Subscription center field.

4. In next customer journey, change its Content settings field to the new content settings.

(Or change global content settings in Settings > Default marketing settings)

5. Finally, subscription center of email will be linked to your external website.

In addition, please run a simple customer journey to test SC instead of test send.

Thanks. we've now got an error which states

The domain where this form is embedded might not be enlisted as a domain for externally listed forms. Otherwise a brower extension or plugin may be blocking this form from loading. Review and reload form to continue

Hi Lee,

The error will occur when we are trying to open the SC form directly and the domain is not authenticated.

After authentication, the form will be able to be shown even if it can't be submitted.

Therefore, to test visibility of SC form on external page, we need to authenticate domain at first.

Thanks, looks like it's working now.

Can i send that form as part of an email, or do I just embed a link to the relevent page in there?

I'm assuming it's just a link, but every website i see tells me how to do it with a marketing page, not a link to the external subscription center

I do not seem to be able to change it from the default without it generating errors

Hi Lee,

We don't need to add the page or the form to email manually:

when we apply the content settings with custom SC to customer journey, the SC link of marketing email will be automatically converted to URL of the external page.

Marketing page is only required when we are using Portal to host form. In other word, the core part is marketing form, it can be embedded on either marketing page(internal, page of Portal) or external page.

SC form is only working when it is opened via the link of marketing email, system will encode the link with some complex parameters to identity contact. Submission will fail and form script will give error to us if we open the SC form directly.

Thanks, it looks like I'd not added the new subscription center to the content settings of the customer journey, that bit is working now

In settings, are ownership and email status of the domain in Confirmed status?

Still a couple of issues.

I'm saving one marketing form as "contacts and leads" - however whenever I Go Live with it, it immediately reverts it to Contact Only.

Why does it do this? - the form is saved as Contacts and Leads
