Using GitHub, GitHub actions for F&O deployment

Hi all,  We are about to start a new implementation of F&O but we are exploring options to setup the repo in GitHub and using GitHub actions for deployment. Is it a feasible solution? I know with ADO there is a standard out of the box FnO Tools extension, what about GitHub?  From what I've explored with MS documentation, there isn't an explicit recommendation/explanation I could find. AI tools say it's possible but some powershell scripting needs to be in place. Is this accurate? Has anyone ever done it?  Any info on this would be greatly appreciated.

Only info I could find was this post with no clear answer.

I've never done it, but I don't see any reason why it couldn't work. You'll need to set it up on your own, but you could utilize the scripts that Microsoft uses on build servers, therefore you don't have to actually develop it from scratch.

The thread you mentioned isn't useful - the user didn't answer what he's actually interested in and the only "answer" is vague AI-generated stuff.

Hello, interested on this, i try a couple of time to use a Git repository, a good reference is Martin for this.
On my personal notes, where i have some links i've found during my searching of tools ad so on, i have this, but never tried it out.

Try, let us know if can be a way for you

    Thank you @Martin, @Diego.

@Martin: MS public repo, Is this the process/scripts you suggested?

Assume, I used the scripts in https://github.com/ciellosinc/FSC-PS-Actions, to compile and run the changes.
If LCS is replaced by PPAC how does Tier-2 environments deployment happen? Is LCS still in play alongside PPAC and only the VM's are no longer needed? or We just publish the package using pipeline/actions and no connection to LCS?

When LCS is replaced by PPAC, the deployment will be directly to PPAC without any side by side LCS, see some sample YAML (albeit form Azure DevOps) here: https://ariste.info/dynamics365almguide/create-a-yaml-build-and-release-pipeline-with-stages/

    Thanks

I meant DynamicsSDK folder that you get when you deploy a CHE with the Build topology; there are scripts that Microsoft uses for self-hosted build tasks. You may find some parts useful for your scenario. Take a look at https://github.com/shadowchamber/DynamicsSDK to understand what's there (but rather don't use this version, because it's old).
