Need Help with an Orphaned User Account

Hi,

I'm very new to Dynamics GP, (using 10.0), so I thought I would ask this question here before going in head first with no water and screwing something up.  I had created a user account in SA mode incorrectly.  That user had never used the account and I deleted it in dynamics in the user account interface. Dynamics GP -> tools -> setup -> system -> User [delete]

My question is, I wanted to use the same user ID to re-create the account but I keep getting a message that the user still exists in the DataBase which doesn't surprise me.  So, is there a way to purge that user id or reuse it somehow?

(my appologies if this has already been covered but I couldn't find it in the 1400 + items listed.)

 Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi!

You may want to check SQL server logins. The login/user that you have created may not have been deleted from it.

Also, please check Security Logins for the databases (Dynamics & Company Database). If it exist under these databases, it must also be deleted.

    Tim,

You need to delete the user directly in SQL Server Studio Management (or Enterprise Manager if you're on 2000).  I would first check the Logins under Security.  If the user login is there, deleting it from there will also delete it from all the databases.  If it's not there, you will need to look at every GP database (including DYNAMICS) to check for it and delete it from any databases it's in.  Once this is done, you will be able to re-create the user in GP.
