Link Lead/Opportunity record sharing?

We are sharing access to specific Leads/Opportunities with users.

When that user is granted access to a Lead, we'd like it to carry forward to the Opportunity when that lead is qualified. Currently, if a user who has been shared access to a Lead attempts to view the corresponding Opportunity (via the Business Process Flow), they will receive an access denied error until the corresponding Opportunity is also shared with them.

Is there any way to have this opportunity record shared automatically in CRM?

    I would like to get this done programmatically, but I needed a way to complete this in a shorter time-frame for now.

    We don't expect to have many records shared, so this should work for us.

    In theory (and bad performance practice) if you really don’t/can’t do this programmatically:  

    On share of the lead (up to you how to fire a workflow on that share event and have context on who was shared with) fire a workflow that waits for the lead.qualifyingopporutnity field to contain data then use this tool msdyncrmworkflowtools.codeplex.com to share the qualifyingopporutnity record.

    I would encourage you to have two checks in that wait – one for “qualifyingopporutnity” contains data OR “Status = DQ” then have and if statement out there to stop the workflow if DQ so you don’t have even more waiting workflows out there.

    You risk having a lot of waiting workflows out there eating up resources with this so I would encourage the programmatic route if you can.

    Is there any way to use the relationship between a Lead/Opportunity to extend sharing of a Lead to an Opportunity when a Lead is qualified?

    One possible option could be to do custom development and write a plugin/workflow to share opportunity record when lead is converted to opportunity.
