Is there a ISV or preferred ways to introduce a automatic "TEXTING" process whereby a customer cell phone is texted automatically from NAV from various processes, such as, backorder is received or order is ready for pick up, or order is cancelled, etc...?

As per ISV, I'm not aware of any specific small standard solution, dedicated specifically to SMS texting. There are few larger solutions for Business Central (which might mean they can have it for older versions as well) in Microsoft AppSource that include this functionality (e.g. appsource.microsoft.com/.../PUBID.intechsystems|AID.intech_ecommerce|PAPPID.6649c917-88a7-49c8-8c17-3b3d74d23136 )
