Hi there,
how is it possible to manually opt-in contacts on a subscription list, so they receive a newsletter?
We have a customer that is using a different system and now wants to switch to Dynamics 365 for Marketing. The contacts already completed the double opt-in in the other system, so I am looking for a way to manually opt-in these contacts in Dynamics 365 for Marketing.
Greetings and thanks in advance.
Hi Elena,
thanks for your help. The organization I am using right now is just a demo instance. I am just trying to prepare for an upcoming customer project. As long as this button will appear on the customer's instance, everything is fine.
Thanks and have a great day.
Hi Thomas, I've checked with my colleagues and they told that this feature was available from Feb 1st. However, based on the document here: docs.microsoft.com/.../gdpr, auditing was possible to switch on even before that, but it required more steps on the admin side. If you need help in checking if the org had been updated to new version, please send me an organization id, we will take a look
Hi Elena,
this is exactly what I am looking for. Thanks.
I activated in the global system settings auditing and also checked the entity one more time if it is activated for contact, but I can't see the "Log Consent changes" field in my GDPR configuration. Is it because I am missing an update?
Hi Thomas,
I think, we wanted to leave enough flexibility for our users on how to manage their customers' consent levels (can be both automatically and manually). In case you're not aware of, you can switch on the audit (it is switched off by default), then you will be able to see who and when changed the consent level for a particular user. See screenshots above. Should be enough for auditing (if not, give me more details what else is required)
Hi Elena,
thanks for this information.
I think this is what I am looking for. I need to change the value for this field + put the contact on the corresponding subscription list. When I create the customer journey and the segment, I chose the subscription list and send out my Newsletter. I need to test it to be sure.
I thought it might be a bit more complicated, to be honest. With ClickDimensions it was necessary to import the contacts and leave information why the contact opted in with information who opted this contact manually in. Which is a better way in case of an audit imo.
Hi Thomas,
imho, to be able to send newsletters to your customer, you also need to manually set up a proper consent level on Details tab of this contact. EG by default you have level (1) which doesn't allow to send newsletters.
Hi Dilyana,
Thanks for your answer.
I can only add contacts to a marketing list by myself? I just tried to add a contact manually to a subscription list and it worked. Is that already enough, that these contacts receive a newsletter when I send it out and I choose the corresponding subscription list?
Hi @Thomas ,
You can only put contacts on a marketing list yourself. Subscription list is when you want them to manually sign up themselves.
Thanks,
