Personalisation

Hello,
 
My organisation spends a lot of time applying personalisations to new users of F&O. If we were to publish these personalisations to a role that the new user gets when they are created, such as Employee or System User, would they be automatically applied when the user is given that role?

    you can't do that with roles.
    but you could export/import personalisation from another user.

    I'm not getting your problem exactly, but in order to make your personalization available to users you should choose role to share to all users have it, for example you can use system user role if you want to share it to all users without any restriction.

    @Waed The problem is, we have a standard set of personalisations that are applied to all users. When a new user is created, we manually have to apply the personalisations to the new user. My query was, if we publish the personalisation to a role that all users have, i.e. Employee or System User, would those personalisations be applied as soon as the user is created with those roles, or would they still need to be applied?

    This simple answer is No, you can not set the personalized forms as default view to new users.  And the reason is also very simple, Any personalization stored in some system table and until a user is avaiable in system, system can not save any persaonalization details for that user. However you can explore to write some code to set these personalization to all users based on a batch or something, but pl be aware to run this for new users only.

    As Deepak says, the answer is no.
     
    I was looking for a very similar solution to what you are searching for. We too have a particular standard view (for hiding/making a few fields mandatory). We had saved this view and published as a default view to particular roles (for eg, Role A, Role B and Role C). Now, when I was adding new users, I realized that this view was not defaulted. 
    The possible solution is to give a new name to your view and publish to the roles again. (or every time you add a new user) I am yet to try this, but it should work i guess.
