Resetting security Role to original tasks

I have a client that has messed with security at all levels. I was wondering if there is a way to 'reset' a security role and all underlying tasks back to their original state. Even the windows, reports etc that are enabled within the tasks.

Also if anyone knows how to see what the original state of a tasks was, I can eyeball the roles, but the tasks are another story. Or is there sql that allows to find the what windows are allowed in which tasks, I have the sql that helps you find the roles but I'd like to go a little deeper. Thanks for your help.

Hi,

I think the easiest way to do this is to get ahold of the GP Power Tools module (previously the support debugging tool) and install a new instance of GP. Create users with the same names and then export the security with that tool. Then, you can import the security using the tool and it will set everything back to the way it started.
