I have created a custom Word Template or the Opportunity entity in Microsoft Dynamics 365. I have used all available Contact XML mappings including Contactid, Conactidname, Fullname, Firstname, Lastname… no data will pull in even though the opportunity record has an associated Contact. Why? Please help?

    Hi,

Opportunity Stage is maintained in separate Business Process Flow entity. So assuming you have enabled OOB "Opportunity Sales Process" business process flow, the active stage will be set on the entity called "Opportunity Sales Process".  Basically each business process flow has its own entity.

There is a workaround using which you can populate the stage on the opportunity entity itself and then can display it directly.

    Hope this helps.

YES! This worked, thank you so much Ravi! Another question, do you know which field to pull in to see the Sales Stage? I can only get it to show if the Opportunity is Closed, I can't get the data to fill in for any other Pipeline Stage.

    Hi,

If you are not getting the values then it is most likely that you are using the fields from a different relationship. Example, assuming you have created another lookup on opportunity for contact entity. This lookup doesn't have any value and in your template you have configured to display value from this lookup/ relationship. In this case, there will be no values.

Ensure you are using the correct values. In the below screenshot, green highlighted is the correct customer value for contact entity.

    Hope this helps.
