Number of instances for On Prem installation

Hi,

I would like to try installation for D365FO on-prem. 

From the link https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/unified-operations/fin-and-ops/get-started/system-requirements-on-prem

we need 2 AOS, and 3 Orchestrator servers. Can I only use 1 AOS and 1 Orchestrator, and maybe combine Orchestrator to the database server. I am not sure if this "Number of instances" are only for sizing or it is for functioning as well.

    It is for load balancing and high availability. Is your question related to setting up a production environment or a test instance?

    What mr Andre said is unfortunately not correct. 

    Production node (and that is what You are trying to deploy if it's not Contoso) requires 3 orchestrators and at least two AOSes. LCS checks the minimum requirements and will not deploy the system if they are not met.

    Hi Yuji

    3 Orchestrators is the minimum Node number both for Test and Live env as well otherwise the App Fabric Cluster failed.

    The documentation say: The Primary node of the Service Fabric cluster must have at least three nodes. OrchestratorType is designated as the Primary node type.

    As Maciej said, also for Test, you need at least 2 Nodes.
