Management Reporter Legacy Provider

Good Morning,

I had the following two questions regarding Management Reporter 2012:

1) If one uses Management Reporter with Dynamics GP 2013 R2, until when will the “Legacy Provider” be supported? Basically, when will we need to deploy the Data Mart Provider?

2) From my understanding, GP 2015 does not support the Legacy Provider, right?

Joseph,

Although Microsoft has warned of dropping Legacy connector down the road, it is still supported in GP 2015 and with CU14, so you are safe for now.

We have many, many installations running GP2015 with CU13 and CU14 utilizing the Legacy Connector. We are trying to get everyone to CU14 but have run into issues with a few and thus the reason I am crawling this site before we have to burn a support case. We started out with GP2010 and CU8 but had to rebuild datamarts many times. After applying one CU after another and upgrading to GP2015, still no change. This is why we started using the Legacy Connector in hopes of better results which was working great expect for a few locations. I submitted a request to Microsoft to NOT remove the Legacy Connector. Good day

I have configured Management Reporter to use the Dynamics GP Legacy and built a budget report in Management Reporter. When I generate the report, I am selection Financial, Account and Transaction at the Detail Level. I am also selecting a period that is in this current financial year. When I click generate, the report queue status window is displayed and the report generation fails at the point of Processing. It gives the following error:

Transaction Period 3: Posted GL Transaction Scenario ID:2 Year 2016 does not exist. It must be created first.

If I run the report with Transaction and Account detail level, the report runs successfully.
When I go to event viewer, I see the following error:

Exception of type 'Microsoft.Dynamics.Performance.Reporting.Engine.Common.EngineException' was thrown.
Machine: HQ-GP-DEVAPP1

Your help will be greatly appreciated.
