Unable to post to GL - It will cause Inconsistency in the GL Entry Table

Posted on by 15

Hi,

Please I am getting an error while trying to post to GL. I am trying to use a single debit account and 3 balancing accounts, but I noticed that the summation of the balancing amounts does not equal the debit amount (difference of 0.1).

These values are automatically calculated because the solution is a payroll management system.

How can I fix this?

Sample screenshots of error are attached.

Thanks

Gross is the debit amount; net, pension and payee are the balancing amounts

Ask the payroll supplier to fix their calculations.
Seems they are doing the calculations again and again in each step, but they would need to calculate the needed amounts once, and then send them to Journal for posting - with the correct rounded amounts.

payroll is usually a 3rd party application and would be best handled by the vendor support team,

from the error message, it seems to be a rounding issue, you could check where the rounding setting is or find out how rounding is handled by the application.
