Restrict users from opening Charts of accounts page

Hi,

I have a client request where they would like some users to have a restriction on the charts of accounts page.

However, users should still have access to add G/L accounts to a sales order

Methods I have tried:
  1. Using permissions sets, setting table data permission of G/L account (table 15) to indirect/no. Users should still be able to use sales functionality, so the problem here is that other permission sets enable the option to view the chart of accounts regardless.
  2.  Excluded the G/L account table data permission in a permission set but this completely removes functionality including using G/L accounts in sales order.

Any help is much appreciated

Thanks

Hi, I think it should be enough to exclude the permissions of page Chart of Accounts (16, List).

    Hope this helps.
    Thanks.

To add a bit of details on top of previous response. you could create a new permission set, then use exclude per below example so user won't be able to access a table, page, report etc. Assign the permission set to the user after it's done.

    Hi all,
Thank you for the responses on this topic.

I have another question related to this. If we exclude the page 16 "Chart of Accounts", users will not be able to access it as well as it will impact other areas as well.

I think sometimes, clients only want to restrict users from creating G/L accounts in Chart of Accounts.

    Regards
