Hello,

I have a problem where I should create lookup field to opportunity form and information should come from activities (phone calls and appointments). We would like to create just one field, but activity entity can't be a target record type as I understood correct?

So does anyone have any idea how I could choose either phone call or appointment record to this look up field? As I wrote we don't want create two different fields for those activities.

Best regards

Tuomas

    Hello Tuomas,

There is no platform possibility to do that at the moment.

    Hi,

Unfortunately, the platform doesn't provide any ability like that.

    1. If the problem is to have two fields on the form, and it is not looking good to the end user, then create Phone Call and Appointment lookup fields and hide the one which doesn't have any value populated.
    2. If one field is a certain decision for a reason, then you can create a custom entity which has Phonecall and Appointment lookups, so you can locate this custom entity lookup on Opportunity instead. You can have web resources to show detail of the activities, so you can handle the values depending on the provided activity info on the custom entity.

    Hello Tuomas,

May I know activities (phone calls and appointments) here refers to, smmActivities or anything else?

From my understanding, you may try to define initial activities for the opportunities. Would you mind sharing more details of your data model? If you are using custom tables for the activities, any chance to store phone calls and appointments to one table. Thank you.

    Best Regards,

    Austin Shen
