Privileges to approve inventory movement journal workflow ?

Hi friends,

In movement journal, in my system, the workflow is activated. But I saw the Workflow button is not enabled.

May I know what role or privileges related to this ? How to check which security role/duty/privilege related to this ?

Hi Teevo,

I wrote a blog in the past on how you can find related security objects: Workflow security in Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations - Dynamicspedia

In this case, the privilege containing the workflow approval has a different naming convention: Maintain inventory journal workflow. (InventJournalWorkflowMaintain). The duty has the same label and is linked to the security roles Warehouse manager and Warehouse worker in the standard application.

Hi,
These users may not have the security permissions required to run workflow actions on the inventory journal. You can check out this document, which also mentions the issue of permissions for inventory journals.
You can't find the "Workflow" drop-down dialog box for inventory journals - Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management | Microsoft Learn

Hi,

Sorry, this is also happened with Transfer Order. And we do have customized workflow for this Transfer Order, and the button not even appeared.

And we setup and activate the workflow in Inventory Management > Setup > Workflow

And I'm given Security Role Warehouse Worker.

Hi,

The following are the possibilities the workflow is not working.

1. Workflow for movement journal approval is not activated.

The privileges to be assigned to get the Movement journal workflow working for an user is:
1. InventJournalWorkflowMaintain -> InventJournalTableWorkflowDropDialog

2. Security Duty Related to the Privilege: (Maintain Inventory Journal Workflow)

3. Security Role associated with the Privilege:

Role: Warehouse Manager (Maintain privileges - Can update)

Role: Warehouse Worker (View Privileges - Can view)

Hi all,

Thanks so much for the answers. And sorry about the "new" question about Transfer Journal customization. I posted because I thought it was same problem of Security / Privileges, and also because it is in the same Inventory journal thing (although Transfer Order is different thing).

And about this Transfer Order, after I post that, I then realized it is customization then created new thread.

Finally it was resolved both. so I will close this thread. Thanks again.
