Hello,

when someone hoover over to a bar on a bar chart.
can it display the legend of the bar chart. Currently it doesn’t do that. Can I program or set it up to do that ?

Hi Johnseito,

I would suggest looking at https://crmchartguy.com/ as he has amazing things that can be done with charts in Dynamics 365. Example place to start: crmchartguy.com/.../ (I know this one is old)

Another one here: crmtipoftheday.com/.../

Now, my normal approach is to embed Power BI dashboards because the capability is much stronger! :)

Hi partner,

When you hover to a bar on a bar chart, it should display information about its Series and Category.

A single Horizontal ( Category ) can display accurate information about its Series and Category, which shows the legend.

If it has multiple Horizontals (Category), then the information it displays is not accurate, that is, it is not a legend.

Thanks for your screen shots but I have looked at it again and it doesn’t show the legend. Legend represent the color of each bar.

So in my example, I have 3 different color bar, representing 3 different legend, each legend is a color bar.

So I have 3 different color bar, one green, one light blue and one blue.

For example

Green - Apple

light blue - orange

Blue - grapes

When I hover over to the bar, I only see the Y axis it represent and it’s count. But not the legend of that count, not the Apple, Orange or grapes of the count.

How can I get it to show the legend of the count for each bar when a mouse hover over it ?

I did see in your first screen shot it did show the legend but mines don’t. It only shows:

Count:All (the field use): 18

How did you get it to show the legend. Also note that in my chart 1 Y axis could have like 6 different color bars, 6 different legends.

Hi Partner,

Can you show us in your edit chart view of what you put as X, Y axis, fields and legend ? I think what you have gotten is great and is right and if only I can mimic it as well and I think there is a possibility.

The edit chart view is just below this image in my answer.

It's completely OOTB, I did not modify its XML code.

Therefore, your environment should also have this feature.

If not, I would recommend you embed the Power Bi dashboard.

Hi -

I meant can you go to your chart and click on edit so I can see what you use as legend and horizontal axis ?

this way I can see why your bar shows the item and mine not. What did I do in the edit or setting that is different than yours.
