how to display account in some companies with chared COA

Dear all 

i have 2 company Company A - Company B  , and i share one Chart of account between them after that i need to create account in in company A and not display in company B only display in company A 

any help

    Since you are using the same chart of accounts, the main accounts will be shared across all companies, and you cannot hide accounts in company B that are created in the chart of accounts.

    Two solutions are there:

    1- Create multiple chart of accounts

    2- Restrict posting to the accounts using Account Structures (General Ledger --> Setup --> Chart of accounts --> Configure Account Structure, then add the Account structure to the company under General Ledger --> Setup --> Ledger

    Hi Atef083,

    Mohammed did provide a correct answer. In addition, you can suspend accounts by using the override option per legal entity. This option is quite cumbersome to maintain compared the options mentioned by Mohammed. However, if the company is already life, you have to test in a separate environment if changing the setup (option 1 and 2 provided by Mohammed) would be possible.

    correct me if i understand wrong

    for option 1 this means that every company has its own chart of account right

    for option 2 if i will use it now i have to make structure for every company and line with the company and in the structure i will select the account that i will use for every company
